Not exactly an auto project - but not a PC either....

During this past summer we re-arranged the house to make room for baby coming soon
- so this meant I lost my computer room at the house - relocating my primary home use computer to the living room.
Prob was - finding a decent desk for $$ we had to spend was impossible
- I wanted a simple desk w/ a few features - she wanted it to fit in w/ the rest of the furniture (county/antique I guess)
What we wanted was either very hard to find in our area or too expensive to order...
SO - I got out the old woodworking info from the back of my head and made my own
We have a few "Farmhouse style" tables (Dining room and coffee table) - and this is fairly simple to do
- Less than $100 for all the wood and hardware....
- I used Pine w/ pecan stain and lots of poly - 4+ coats
- It has a pull out shelf just below lip of top on each side of keyboard tray
- calculator/checkbook (or for whatever else) tray on right
- and game pad rest on the left - I just love havn that there - it's so much comfortable not reaching up onto the desk....

Made my own mouse tray of black and blue acrylic that slides under the keyboard to close keyboard drawer
- the whole thing will slide into desk and a drawer face folds up for a clean appearance when not using it
( Like that EVER happens long enuff to .. "Put it away" what? why?
)
Have the blue Saitek stuff and Antec 900 case that I recently moved my main rig into – can ya tell I like blue?

I also made a place for my lil’ Dell lappy when it is not being used – (almost as ironic as closing the keyboard drawer)
- But , it has a home now too….

I still have all the other clutter (CD’s, manuals, and such) on shelves in the baby’s room
–which will have to find a new home eventually too – just don’t’ want to take all that stuff to the shop, so for now…..
Still plan on making a riser and shelf hutch type addition to go under/around the monitor - in time anyway
So... Any1 else have their own unique creation ?
